Schedule for the project - Polish suggestions

Comenius Project
1st Stage – length 1 year
1. Introduction of the school, pupils and the teachers – PP presentations, short videos, etc.
2. Presentations on Nobel Prize winners (from all over the world)
a) Students prepare presentations on Nobel Prize winners (they choose from the famous winners from all over the world)
b) Within-the-school competition – children vote for the Nobel Prize winner they think deserves the prize the most (they have to motivate their choice, prepare the presentation, present characteristics of a great person)
c) International competition for all the partners – Internet voting via the website (again, the students motivate their choice, prepare the presentation, present characteristics of a great person)
3. Meeting a Noble Prize winner – we are currently in the process of organizing a meeting with Lech Walesa – Polish Nobel Peace Prize winner – all the partners choose one person from their country (doesn’t have to be a NP winner – can be someone famous who was helping/influenced others)
4. „A hero from the neighborhood project” – looking for a local hero (within 50km radius)
5. Summary of the 1st stage – a hero in the world, in my country, in my town – defining the common traits of great people, children prepare the list of traits in the form of a roll-up which partners send to one another to create the complete list (the roll-up will travel from one country to another)
2nd stage – length 1,5 year
6. Cooperation with charity foundations – showing children they are heroes too
a) Cooperation with local charity foundation – partners pick one local foundation – in our case it’s the “I have a dream” Foundation which we’ve been cooperating for years now
b) The €5 project – students receive €5 and have to multiply this amount by their actions (selling tickets to their plays, etc.), then the money is donated to charity
c) International charity events:
“My Christmas ball” – students paint xmas balls which are then sent to the partners and sold during, e.g. Xmas fair, then the money is donated to charity
“Films that were never there” – posters for films that were never made; students take photos, prepare posters (stylized for movie posters) and set up an exhibition, then the money is donated to charity (see attached)
d) supporting a local charity indicated by partners (we can divide into pairs)
7. Summary of the whole project
a) presenting the charity events results
b) international voting via WWW
c) summary of events: the yearly results of local and international projects (acknowledgments, photopresentations) – can be organised in the form of Skype conferences (individual interviews w/students, etc.)
d) preparing awards and nominations for the School Nobel Prize ceremony for all the partners
e) results announcement – You are a hero! (showing children that what they have achieved during the year qualifies all of them for heroes)
